2 person died in Shooting Incident

KUMALARANG, Zamboanga del Sur -  Two person was killed in Shooting incident transpired at Barangay Gawil, Kumalarang Zamboanga del Sur. At about 6:40 AM of May 11, 2019.

Police Brigadier Gen. Emmanuel  Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director identified the two victims as:

Lino Gandalusao Y Purok, male, 45 years old, married, and a resident of Purok Kingdom, Gawil, Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur and

Dennis Perocho Y Baid, male, single, 29 years old, and a resident of Purok Tokyo, Barangay Gawil, Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur.

Investigation disclosed that prior to the incident at around 6:35 AM of May 11, 2019, both victims were traversing onboard single MC, DT Yamaha with no registration plate heading towards Barangay Bolisong, Kumalarang Municipality and upon reaching at Purok Kingdom, Barangay Gawil, Kumalarang were waylaid by unidentified suspect/s and without any apparent reason shot the victims several times using 5.56mm based on the recovered fired six (6) cartridge cases of 5.56 mm and one (1) live ammunition of same caliber from the crime scene.

As a result, victims sustained multiple gunshot wounds on the different parts of their bodies that resulted to their instantaneous death. The suspect/s fled towards National Highway of Barangay Bogayo, Kumalarang.

PNP personnel of Kumalarang Municipal Police Station conducted thorough investigation and follow up operation to possibly identify, locate and arrest the fleeing suspect/s.

The cadaver was now in their immediate families, while motive of the incident is yet to be determined.

2 Arrested for Violation of R.A. 10591 and COMELEC Gun ban

KUMALARANG, Zamboanga del Sur - Two individual were arrested by Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU) and Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) at provincial road of Purok Kaumahan-B, Barangay Poblacion, Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur at about 3:40 PM of May 6, 2019 for Violation of R.A. 10591, Omnibus Election Code (COMELEC Gun Ban), Art. 151 of the Revised Penal Code (RPC) for Resistance and Disobedience to a person in authority or the agents of such person and Presidential Decree No. 9 for Illegal possession of Bladed Weapon.

Arrested were identified as Jerry Salva Y Nadonza, male, married, 51 years old, farmer, and a resident of Purok Poblacion, Brgy. Gawil, Kumalarang and Junriel Cedeño Y Cabaron, male, married, 33 years old, farmer, resident of Purok Kingdom, Brgy. Gawil, both of Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur.  

The suspects were arrested when above named PNP members were conducting mobile and motorcycle patrol at Barangay Poblacion, Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur and able to stop single motorcycle moving in opposite direction whose driver is in possession of caliber .45 pistol with serial number 791524 with eight (8) live ammunitions without license to own and possess firearm and registration.

Also recovered from the driver and back rider were two (2) pieces of hunting knives. Arrested persons are now temporarily detained at Kumalarang MPS detention cell, while above-stated cases are being prepared for inquest filing at the Provincial prosecutor’s office.

3 Arrested, Firearms Seized in COMELEC Checkpoint in Zambo Sur

KUMALARANG, Zamboanga del Sur - On April 28, 2019 at about 03:00 o'clock dawn, elements of Charlie Company, 53rd IB, Philippine Army led by 1Lt Michael Bumidang, Commanding Officer, turn-over to Kumalarang MPS three male persons.

The three suspects were identified as:

Ryan Aribal Talara, 36 years old, resident of Barangay Colo, Molave, Zamboanga Del Sur;

Matan Gawol Gon, 37 years old, resident of Barangay Payungan Alicia, Zamboanga Sibugay; and

Mark Sandalan Ata, 38 years old, Barangay Bolisong, Kumalarang, Zamboanga Del Sur.

The three suspects were arrested at COMELEC Checkpoint and three (3) units of firearm were confiscated from them described as one unit AK200R with Serial No. 500906, one unit Cal. 45 pistol (Colt MK IV) with Serial No.33445, and one unit KJ9 with Serial No. 247279.  

The firearms were seized inside the vehicle described as 4x4 Jeep during the checkpoint operation at National Highway, Barangay Bogayo, Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur at about 10:30 in the evening of April 27, 2019.

Initial Investigation conducted by Kumalarang MPS revealed that above-named Philippine Army personnel conducted checkpoint at the unlighted area of said barangay purposely to intercept the above-described vehicle that was traveling from Barangay Gawil, Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur to National Highway, Barangay Bogayo of same municipality based on the alleged report of strafe incident they received at the house of Punong Barangay Rey Cais of Barangay Gawil.

Upon reaching the National Highway of Barangay Bogayo, the Philippine Army personnel intercepted the vehicle and ordered its entire passenger (arrested persons) to go out and afterwards conducted an intensive search inside the vehicle and able to recover the above-describe firearms.

Investigation further disclosed that there was no strafe incident occurred to the house of Punong Barangay Rey Cais of Barangay Gawil, Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur.

Arrested persons and seized firearms are now in the custody of Kumalarang MPS while appropriate charges are being prepared for filing in court.

Shooting Incident

KUMALARANG, Zamboanga del Sur (April 14, 2019) - Shooting incident transpired at the National Highway of Purok-4, Barangay Mahayahay, Kumalarang Zamboanga del Sur at about 6:30 PM of April 13, 2019, perpetrated by motorcycle riding in tandem unidentified suspects.

Police Brigadier Gen. Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director identified the victims as Eduardo Tayong Y Andalay, male, 42 years old, married, farmer and Janskie Tayong Y Andalay, male, single, 15 years old, student both are residents of Purok-4, Barangay Mahayahay, Kumalarang Zamboanga del Sur.

Initial investigation conducted disclosed that at about 6:30 in the evening of same date, both victims were onboard on a single motorcycle coming from Barangay Poblacion going to Barangay Mahayahay of Kumalarang, after selling pork lechon as one of their living, however upon reaching at the national highway particularly at adjacent area of Prk-4, Barangay Mahayahay, Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur.

They were shot by motorcycle riding suspects from behind using caliber 45 pistol as determined by the recovered two (2) pieces of spent shells at the crime scene. 

Despite of the gunshot wound they sustained, both victims were able to run and escaped.

Eduardo Tayong Y Andalay sustained two (2) gunshot wounds; one (1) gunshot wound on left arm and one (1) gunshot wound on his left thigh while Janskie Tayong Y Andalay sustained one (1) gunshot wound on the left back portion of his body.

Both victims were shot by unidentified person who immediately escaped going to Barangay Pangi, Kumalarang, direction based on the statement of the residents thereat.

Victims were rushed at Kumalarang Rural Healt Unit, Brgy. Poblacion and later referred to Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Hospital, Dao, Pagadian City for further medication.

Kumalarang MPS conducted hot pursuit operations and investigations for possible identification and arrest of the fleeing suspects.

Motive of the incident is still to be determined.

1 peson killed in Shooting Incident

KUMALARANG, Zamboanga del Sur (April. 3, 2019) – One person was killed in Shooting incident transpired at the remote area of Purok Dumalian, Barangay Diplo, Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur at about 9:30 PM of April 2, 2019.

Police Brigadier General Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Regional Director identified the victim as Rodolfo Adriancen Y Banas, 43 years old, married farmer and resident of said place.

Investigation conducted disclosed that the victim with together his 40-year old wife Salome and 15 years old son and son in-law identified as Junard Macsa, 27 years old were having a conversation on the bench in their balcony when they were interrupted by three (3) successive shots of firearm that made them ran away quickly.

After a while, they noticed that the victim was already on the floor, lifeless and bleeding.

The victim sustained three (3) gunshot wounds; that resulted to his instantaneous death.

The suspects fled going to North-West direction based on the traces of footsteps at the back of their house.

Recovered at the crime scene was one (1) piece of fired slug of unknown caliber.

Meanwhile, Police Brigadier General Emmanuel Luis D Licup has ordered the Kumalarang Municipal Police Station to launch a manhunt operation against the fleeing suspects.

Stabbing Incident

KUMALARANG, Zamboanga del Sur (March 21, 2019) - Stabbing incident took place at Purok Hadji Dacula, Brgy. Diplo, Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur at about 4:30 PM of March 30, 2019.

The victim was identified as Danny Cabalo, of legal age, married, farmer, and resident of aforementioned place.

Accordingly, prior to the incident both the victim and the suspect together with their respective friends were having a drinking session on separate table at Nonoy Pableo Store located at Purok Hadji Dacula, Brgy. Diplo, Kumalarang.

The suspect got provoked and offended to the verbal jokes of the victim that prompted him (suspect) to go home and returned armed with a bolo and stabbed the victim.

The victim sustained stab wound on his abdomen and was brought to Margosatubig Regional Hospital, Margosatubig, Zamboanga del Sur for treatment.

The suspect identified as Loreto Ligayan y Limod, 64 years old, farmer, a resident of same place was arrested inside his house by responding PNP after the former was positively identified by witnesses.

Recovered at the crime scene is the bolo used by the suspect with a length of 13.5 inches including its handle.

Top 1 Most Wanted Person of Buug MPS, Captured

KUMALARANG, Zamboanga Del Sur (Feb. 9, 2019) - Combined PNP elements of Buug MPS, Zamboanga Del Sur PPO-Intel Branch, 903rd Maneuvering Company of RMFB9 and Kumalarang MPS conducted manhunt operation Purok Malinawon, Poblacion, Kumalarang, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 10:30 AM of February 8, 2019.

The operation resulted to the arrest of Dhats A. Manguda, (listed Top 1 Most Wanted Person of Buug MPS) 38 years old, male, married, farmer, and a resident of Brgy Pulog, Buug, Zamboanga Sibugay. He was arrested for the crime of Murder issued by Acting Presiding Judge, RTC Branch 31, Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Meanwhile, during arrest the suspect resisted which prompted the Intel operative of 903rd Maneuvering Company of RMFB9, to shoot him hitting his right leg.

The suspect was brought to Kumalarang RHU for medication and now temporarily detained at Kumalarang MPS for proper disposition.

Drug Suspect Arrested, 340K Worth of Shabu Seized in Drug Buy Bust Operation

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga Del Sur (Jan. 27, 2019) – A Illegal-Drug suspect was arrested while 340-Thousand pesos worth of suspected shabu was confiscated by combined elements of 902nd Maneuver Company of Regional Mobile Force Battalion 9, Zamboanga Del Sur PPO-Intel Branch, Zamboanga Del Sur PPO-Drugs Enforcement Unit, PDEA-Zamboanga Del Sur and Regional Intelligence Division 9 during drug buy-bust operation at Purok 3 Barangay Buyogan West in Kumalarang municipality of this province at about 11:50 in the morning of January 27, 2019

PCSUPT Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Regional Director identified the drug suspect as Masdal Karil Mandi a.k.a. Masdal Abdulrajac, 35 years old, married, and resident of Purok 4, Barangay Poblacion, Payao, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Confiscated from his possession and control are the following ites:  

One (1) heat-sealed plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu with estimated weight of 50-grams worth Three Hundred Forty thousand pesos (Php340,000);

One (1) cigarette pack used as container of suspected shabu; One (1) brown cellular phone;

One (1) brown envelope used to contain buy-bust money; and

One (1) bundle of boodle money topped with genuine Php1000.00 bearing serial numbers SM787553.

The arrested illegal-drug suspect is now temporarily detained at PDEA detention center, Provincial Capitol, Pagadian City, while appropriate case for violation of Section 5, Art II of RA9165 is being prepared for filing in court against the suspect. 1 person dead in Road Crash Accident

KUMALARANG, Zamboanga del Sur (Jan. 27, 2019) – A driver of motorcycle was died in Vehicular accident occurred at Purok- 4, Barangay Picanan, Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur at about 2:45 PM of January 25, 2019.

The accident was involved by the following persons were:

Jerson Laparan y Romagos – driver of Honda XRM Motorcycle, Marvin Soriano y Calderon- Backrider of Honda XRM Motorcycle,

Eliseo Lagare Jr y Villas – driver of Honda TMX Motorcycle and

Samsoden Mangadang y Alawi – Driver Toyota HI-ACE Van.

Initial investigation conducted disclosed that Honda XRM motorcycle was traversing the national highway in high speed en route from Malangas, Zamboanga Sibugay bound for Pagadian City, but upon reaching at the curved road area located at Purok 4, Barangay Picanan, Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur.

The said vehicle was collided with Honda TMX motorcycle which was shortly entered and started to traverse the national highway coming from its parked position, and subsequently said Honda XRM motorcycle (with its driver) which was currently collided with Honda TMX motorcycle was accidentally hit and collided with the Toyota Hi-Ace Van en route from Pagadian City bound for Ipil Zamboanga Sibugay.

The driver of Honda TMX motorcycle and the back rider of Honda XRM motorcycle sustained minimal injuries but the driver of Honda XRM sustained fatal head injuries and was immediately rushed to Saint John, Medical Hospital, Buug, Zamboanga Sibugay for immediate medical treatment but unfortunately pronounced dead by the attending physician.
